Voice note transcription
- Record audio during a consultation directly from the consultation screen.
- The recording is sent to an AI service which transcribes and summarises the content.
- The resulting note is automatically merged into the consultation notes when processing completes — typically within a few minutes.
- You can navigate away while processing happens in the background; a notification lets you know when the note is ready.
Pet history summary
- After each completed consultation, an AI process reads the pet's full visit history and generates a concise clinical summary.
- The summary is displayed on the patient record so any team member can quickly understand the animal's history at a glance.
- Summaries are updated automatically after each new visit.
- Staff can edit or clear a summary if needed.
Frequently asked questions
How long does voice note processing take?
Usually a few minutes. You will receive an in-app notification when the note is ready. If processing takes longer than expected, the note will appear on the consultation when it completes.
Can I edit an AI-generated pet summary?
Yes. Summaries can be edited or cleared directly from the patient record by any staff member with access.
Is voice recording stored permanently?
The audio is sent to our AI processing service for transcription. Only the resulting text note is stored in FastVet; the raw audio is not retained.
